Mike Bowermaster

Mike Bowermaster


Mike Bowermaster oversees the fulfillment of the firm's overall strategic plan and fosters a deep commitment to providing exemplary advisory support and expertise to clients.

Joining his father in 1975, Mike maintains an innovative approach to help further advance the family business. For over 40 years, he has assembled an ambitious and knowledgeable team. He encourages creativity, forward-thinking and open communication that allows his people to share new ideas and solve problems.

A former Director of the Downey Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Heart Association Southeast Region, Downey YMCA and Director of the Scorin' Lorne McKelvie Memorial Fund, Mike is actively involved in the greater community and holds various events throughout the year where he speaks to business owners on the topics of business compliance and controlling insurance costs. He is also the former National Chairperson for PACER, a CNA Insurance Advisory Group, and served on various insurance company advisory councils.

Adam Bowermaster joined the organization in 1998 and is the third generation of his family to be actively involved in the firm. Adam has worked in many areas of the firm, from managing the personal lines division, commercial lines division and sales team, to serving as a member of the Executive Committee. In his current role, he manages the day-to-day operations of our Benefits Division and Sales & Marketing, while setting the vision and strategic alignment of the organization as a whole. His additional responsibilities include managing key client relationships, carrier partnerships, strategic partnerships, resource management, recruitment and acquisitions.

Adam has been a licensed Property & Casualty and Life & Health agent since 1998 and holds a Certified Analytic Broker designation and Certified Work Comp Advisor designation. He is also a member of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Society. He speaks frequently on insurance topics and current affairs affecting the industry.

Adam holds a Bachelor's degree from California State University, Long Beach. He lives in Huntington Beach AKA Surf City, California and is married with 3 children. He is a proud member and Past-President of Kiwanis of Huntington Beach.

Martin Mullan

Chief Operations Officer


Martin joined Bowermaster and Associates in 1994. He manages the operations of the agency including the client support groups responsible for the day-to-day servicing of the commercial and personal insurance clients. Martin supervises the recruitment and training of new sales and service personnel and acts as the agency liaison to our Property & Casualty insurance providers.

He began his career in insurance in 1984 with Allstate Insurance Company's Southern California Claims Management Division before moving to the aerospace industry as a project financial analyst with TRW at their Space Park facility.

Martin holds a degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University and is a licensed Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance agent.

Jim Rose

Jim joined Bowermaster and Associates in 1987. Due to his deep commitment to providing exemplary support and expertise to his clients, he is consistently the firm’s highest performing producer. While his skills and knowledge cover numerous industries, he has developed a significant book of business in the golf industry. Jim started and leads Bowermaster’s CoRE team while also managing recruits and mentoring aspiring Advisors.

Mr. Rose holds a degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University, a distinguished achievement award from the Safeco School of Commercial Lines and holds designations as a Certified Analytical Broker (CAB) and Certified Workers’ Compensation Advisor (CWCA).

Jim and his wife Susan live in Long Beach. They have a daughter (Trevor) at Southern Methodist University and a son (Will) at St. John Bosco.

Jill Malcolm

Executive Vice President, Human Resources


Jill joined Bowermaster and Associates in 2015. She manages the Human Resources of the agency including the HR Connection Division for our clients. With over 17 years of experience in Human Resources and 12 years in HR management. She has expertise working in multi-state businesses, large and small, and several different industries such as nonprofit, healthcare, and financial services. Jill's credentials include dual certifications as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and a Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), building upon the skills she acquired at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She is an active member of SHRM, PIHRA and CalChambers.

Manny Montanez

As an Army veteran and soldier in the Vietnam War, Manny Montanez started his career at the Seattle-First National Bank's Seafirst Leasing division in 1976 where he was responsible for opening the Denver Regional-Inter-Mountain region. In early 1983 Seattle-First National Bank was acquired by Bank of America. Since B of A had an equipment finance unit, they promoted Manny and other senior management members to engage with Goldman Sachs to prepare an offering memorandum to find a buyer for the leasing unit.

In October of 1983, Manny and his teammate's efforts were rewarded as the unit was acquired by The Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. The unit became Metlife Capital where Manny served as a Managing Director with P & L responsibility of a strategic business unit with $1.2 billion in assets. He departed after 21 years when the unit was sold in 1999.

Manny went on to form EG Montanez Construction in 2009, a federal and military installation and Investor Owned Utilities general contractor; and LMP CAPITAL an equipment finance company focused on the Fortune 1000 public and private sector.

Manny attended the University of Denver and has completed the Executive Management Business Course at Columbia University.
